The Curious Savage is a charming, bittersweet comedy by John Patrick about a wealthy widow whose greedy stepchildren have her committed in an attempt to control her inheritance. The play, which skewers notions of "sanity" with warmth, humor and dignity, is filled with delightful, unforgettable characters and remains as relevant today as when it was written.
Bar Open: We will open the theatre doors a half hour before show time. The restaurant and/or theatre bar will be available preshow and at intermission. Drinks purchased at Maria's are permitted in the theatre. Outside food and beverages are not.
Running Late? Late arrivals will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager.
Arrival Time: We will open the theatre doors a half hour before show time. If planning to enjoy a meal at Maria’s or anywhere else downtown before the show, arrive early so you can dine without rushing.

Where is The Lancaster Playhouse (TLP) located? Our new location is in the historic ballroom/event space on the first floor of Maria’s Mexican Restaurant at 129 E. Main St. in downtown Lancaster, Ohio.There are steps at the Main Street entrance. To avoid stairs, please drop off in the alley behind the building and enter by way of the patio side door. Do I need to print my tickets? Your ticket - your choice. You can print your tickets, save them to your phone, OR check in at the door using the name of the person who placed the order.
How do I exchange my tickets? If you need to exchange your tickets, please call our box office at 740-407-2784 or email us at tickets@thelancasterplayhouse.org and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request based on availability.
Do you have group rates? A discounted group rate for 10 or more seats purchased together is available. Please call the box office at 740-407-2784.
What is the inclement weather policy? If Fairfield County is at Level 1, the show will proceed as scheduled. If Fairfield County is at a Level 2 or Level 3 on the day of a performance, please utilize the TLP Facebook page or call the box office (740-407-2784) to get the most current news about your show. A cancellation decision will be made and announced three (3) hours prior to a scheduled performance.
If TLP cancels a performance, ticketed patrons may request a weather credit for a future show. Check your email or call the box office at 740-407-2784.
